As a dedicated school psychologist, Foxx serves multiple schools including Pre-K, Cullowhee Valley School, Fairview School, and Smoky Mountain High School. Among seven finalists across the state, Foxx emerged as the deserving recipient of the award.
Foxx’s nomination was submitted by Kelly Doppke, the Director of Student Support Services, who lauded her efforts in leading the school psychology team towards substantial program improvement. Doppke commended Foxx’s advocacy for comprehensive services beyond a testing model, resulting in the recruitment of new staff and interns within the district. In fact, under Foxx’s leadership, Jackson County Public Schools is scheduled to expand its team from two full-time psychologists to five over the next two years.
The N.C. School Psychology Association aims to acknowledge exemplary school psychological services by recognizing professionals who demonstrate the highest level of daily professionalism.
